Biographical

Mr. Travis practiced labor and employment law for over 25 years before becoming a full-time neutral in 2009. In addition to his independent neutral practice as a mediator and arbitrator, he has served as Director of the Tennessee Labor-Management Center. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Law and also holds a Master of Laws in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine University School of Law, where he also teaches employment dispute resolution. Mr. Travis currently serves on the panels of the American Arbitration Association, the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the International Mediation Institute, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the National Mediation Board, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He has also been appointed to serve as an administrative law judge for the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Office of Federal Operations. Mr. Travis has served as chair of the Dispute Resolution Section of the Tennessee Bar Association, is a founding member of the Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators, and is listed on CPR's Employment Panel of Distinguished Neutrals. He is also an adjunct professor of labor and employment law at Tennessee Technological University.
