Hon. Joe G. Riley retired from the bench in 2004 having served 7 years on the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals and 18 years as a Circuit Court Judge in Dyer and Lake Counties. As a Circuit Court Judge, he was one of the pioneers of judicial mediations in civil and domestic cases even prior to the adoption of Rule 31. He is a skilled mediator and settlement judge, known for his creative settlements in resolving complex matters.

Memberships & Affiliations :
 Judge Riley has served on the Independent Disciplinary Counsel of the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary, is a Past-President of the Tennessee Judicial Conference and is a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation. He is a member of the Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators. He has authored numerous legal publications, served as an adjunct professor at the University of Memphis School of Law and taught seminars for judges, lawyers and lay groups. He is one of the three founding partners of Justice Programs, a professional educational group providing continuing legal education for lawyers. Judge Riley is a Rule 31 Listed Family and General Civil Mediator.
