PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION

Biographical Notes:

Rule 31 Listed Mediator, Tennessee Supreme Court and Certified Mediator, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Tennessee. Private practice of law (43 years), state and federal trial, appellate, administrative, arbitration and mediation. Emphasis - Labor and Employment, over 300 arbitration cases representing either employers or employees/trade unions. Clients have included management, labor unions, individuals and corporations. Many firms limit their representation to "one-side", i.e., employee or employer. My law firm has consistently represented "both sides" providing the firm with an understanding of labor law without a partisan posture. Member since its creation in 1996, Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution, Tennessee Supreme Court, administering Tennessee court-sponsored mediation and responsibility for listing mediators.

Adjunct Professor of Law taught ADR, Appalachian School of Law, Grundy, Virginia, and Visiting Fellow, International Maritime Law Institute, Misda, Malta where I have lectured on mediation and arbitration. I have been, for a number of years, a FINRA arbitrator with numerous published awards.
